I have so much mint to use from our garden and have been SCROUNGING for ways to use all of it! Just in time, I stumbled across this easy hair oil recipe by little green dot. Follow our tutorial below to make your own!
Ingredients/Equipment
- Fresh mint (and or rosemary)
- Coconut oil
- Self-sealing jar
Instructions
- First, you’ll want to sterilize the jar you’ll use to hold your hair oil. You can do this by boiling some water.
- Pour the boiled water into your jar
- And then pour out and let it air dry. Once it’s dried completely, you can place your mint into the jar. You’ll then want to pour the coconut oil in until it’s covering the mint completely.
- Seal the jar and keep warm for two weeks, making sure to shake it frequently to get the oils out. If patience is not one of your virtues, you can just heat your jar (at no higher than 122 degrees fahrenheit) for five hours and you’ll be good to go!
- This is me trying to keep my jar warm because my husband likes to keep our house very cold!
How to Use It
- You can massage a teaspoon of the oil from your scalp to your ends and leave it in for 20 mins or overnight. Just wash it out of your hair when you’re done!
